Rising singer-songwriter and producer GWYN is set to release her emotionally charged new single, "Lost Angels (Rock Version)" on 23 January, 2026, blending the track’s haunting, dark-pop elements with a heavier rock sound. This release marks the beginning of a major new chapter, leading into the long-awaited "Lost Angels" EP, set for release on the same day. The EP will feature three distinct versions of the track, offering a complete exploration of its sonic and emotional landscape.

The single release coincides with her debut performance at the AIA Carnival in Hong Kong on 24 January 2026, a landmark show that will kick off the expansive "Lost Angels Tour." The upcoming tour will bring GWYN's powerful live performance to audiences across multiple regions, further amplifying the EP's themes of ambition, loss, and connection.

In a significant career development, GWYN has been selected for the Grammy U program, where she will collaborate with emerging international songwriters. This follows a period of intense global creative activity, including a recent showcase at the International Music Expo (IMX) in Shanghai in October and participation in the SoundScape Songwriting Camp in Bangkok. Building on this momentum, GWYN already has plans to write with top-tier international songwriters from Norway and across Asia in the coming year to craft her next body of work.

In 2022, GWYN lost both her maternal and paternal grandmothers to COVID-19 within the span of just three months. Their passing left an unfillable void, prompting her to confront the deeper impact of her relentless pursuit of success. “I looked up to and deeply respected these women,” GWYN shares. “Losing them made me realize how much time I sacrificed with my family for my career. It made me wonder if success could ever truly replace that sense of loss.”

The title "Lost Angels" is a poignant play on Los Angeles, the city often seen as the mecca of musical success. GWYN contemplates the glossy facade of industry life, questioning whether achieving her dreams will numb her pain or deepen her disconnection. The line “I’ll be saving all my tears, ’cause lost angels never cry” encapsulates this inner turmoil, a bittersweet exploration of whether the climb to the top inevitably comes with emotional detachment.

Inspired by personal loss and the relentless pursuit of success, "Lost Angels" delves into the emotional toll of chasing dreams. GWYN’s ethereal synths and driving rock beats intertwine with her powerful vocals, crafting a soundscape that balances vulnerability and resilience.

The track is co-written by Zzqc_Jessie, an independent singer-songwriter and rapper from China, and co-produced with Kaz Benson (Kaz Benson, North Star Boys, 51st Avenue, etc.). A former Top 24 finalist in Rap China, China’s prestigious rap competition, Jessie’s music draws from her real-life experiences, channeling her emotions into versatile, genre-crossing soundscapes.

“Lost Angels” is about the paradox of ambition, how we sometimes lose parts of ourselves in the pursuit of something greater," says GWYN. "Co-writing this with Jessie brought an added depth to the song, reflecting the inner turmoil of feeling lost and disconnected, even when success seems within reach.”

Since her debut in 2019, GWYN has earned radio play on Triple J and FBi Radio, landed on Spotify Editorial Playlists like New Music Friday and Beats & Rhymes.. Her recent activities in Shanghai and Bangkok, coupled with the upcoming Grammy U program and planned international sessions, underscore a thrilling new phase in GWYN’s career, actively bridging cultures and showcasing the universal nature of human emotion through music.

"Lost Angels (Rock Version)" will be available on all major streaming platforms on January 23, 2026, an evocative reminder that even in life’s darkest moments, music can be a beacon of connection and healing, and the powerful start to a defining era for the artist.
